NEW Evening Service on Sunday, January 18!

NEW Evening Service on Sunday, January 18!

We’re excited to introduce a new Sunday evening worship service at Church of the Mountains, launching January 18 - created in response to feedback from folks who love being outdoors or are working in Truckee during the day and can’t always make the Sunday morning service (NOTE: This is a one-time evening service - stay tuned for the next scheduled evening service!)

This contemplative, unplugged gathering offers a quieter, reflective way to close the weekend and get ready for the week ahead—through meaningful music, prayer, and time in community.

Come as you are—whether you’ve been skiing, hiking, or just enjoying a cozy day at home—and join us for an evening of connection and calm. Whether you’re seeking stillness, connection, or a fresh rhythm for worship - ALL are welcome to be part of this new evening service.

5:00 - 5:30pm  Gathering with light refreshments and community together

5:30 - 6:30pm  Worship service in a reflective, casual environment

See you there!

Home Fellowship Gathering — Saturday, January 10

Home Fellowship Gathering — Saturday, January 10

Our next Home Fellowship meets Saturday, January 10 at 6pm, and our conversation will center on “Hope in Spite of the Circumstances.” In a world that often feels heavy, this is a timely invitation to reflect together on the deeper meaning of hope—not as optimism, but as a way of living with purpose and faith regardless of outcomes.

Please note the location change: we will meet at Tom Jackson’s home, 15291 Kent Dr., Glenshire (not at Swenja and Johannes’ home).

If you plan to join us, please RSVP below and let us know what you can bring (appetizers, soup, salad, main dish, dessert, or beverages).

We’re looking forward to a thoughtful, honest, and hope-filled evening together.

Thank You for Your Christmas Eve Generosity

Thank You for Your Christmas Eve Generosity

Half of Christmas Eve donations given benefited Truckee youth

Because of your generous Christmas Eve giving, we were able to make a donation to Adventure Risk Challenge, supporting youth right here in Truckee. Even better, your gift was matched dollar for dollar through their year-end giving match, doubling the impact for local young people.

At Church of the Mountains, we are delighted to support youth in our community as part of our ongoing outreach efforts. Thank you for helping extend the hope, care, and love of the season into our wider community.

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
