A Special Honor for Church of the Mountains: Mark Your Calendars!

A Special Honor for Church of the Mountains: Mark Your Calendars!

We are deeply humbled to share a sweet note of recognition with our church family.

In honor of National Gratitude Month and Truckee’s 5th Annual Celebration of Gratitude, Vice-Mayor Henderson has chosen Church of the Mountains as her 2026 Gratitude Recipient.

This gesture recognizes our shared efforts to care for our neighbors—from supporting local youth and community programming to offering a place of sanctuary, comfort, and love during moments like the avalanche vigil and Truckee Pride. More than anything, it is a quiet reminder of how meaningful it is to simply show up for one another and reflect the heart of Truckee.

This honor belongs to all of you who share your time, care, and presence with our community. We would love to gather together to receive this recognition as a church family.

Please mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the beauty of serving our town together!

Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2026

Time: 5:00 PM (Recognition at the start, followed by a light reception after the Council meeting)

Location: Truckee Town Council Meeting (Town Hall)

A Letter from Pastor Rebecca

A Letter from Pastor Rebecca

Come one, come all! You are an important part of the good things that are happening at Church of the Mountains. This fall, let’s thank God for all the good work our team leaders have done in 2026 by joining them for 2027.

Do you like to meet new people? Make connections in Truckee? Go for lunch or coffee? Visit people in their homes? You can be a vital addition to our outreach team.

Can you cook or shop? Can you make a phone call? If we are going to be a welcoming church, we need you on our hospitality team.

Can you count? Can you read a spreadsheet? We can use your skills and good sense on our finance team.

Are you good with tools? Can you work alone or with a team? Do you get satisfaction from a job well done? The trustees would like to work with you.

Are you a good listener? A good judge of character? Can you keep confidence and give honest feedback? The Staff-Parish Relations committee wants to talk with you.

Do you like to think, write, or speak to groups? We would love to hear you on Sunday mornings or read your musings on social media.

Do you play an instrument or sing or know people who can? You can help us build a new worship band.

If you have read through these questions and honestly answered them, you know that you already have ample gifts to give to God and to our community through this church. Some of you have been giving of yourself for a long time, and we are so grateful. But for those of you who have stepped back or haven’t yet stepped forward, I really do believe that something that once seemed impossible is happening here, and you are absolutely essential to making it real. Listen to your heart and where God is leading you. I’m waiting to hear from you: 415-505-6237.

Mark Your Calendars: Upcoming Church Conference & Visioning Potluck - October 25

Please save the date this October 25 for our upcoming Church Conference! While we are finalizing this tentative date, we are excited to announce that Rev. Dawn Blundell, Senior Pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church in Fallon and representing the new Superintendency Team for the Great Northern Conference, will be visiting us in person.

We invite our entire church family to gather for a meaningful Sunday of worship, fellowship, and shared vision for the year ahead:

10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Sunday Worship Service

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Visioning Potluck Lunch

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Church Conference

This will be a wonderful opportunity to break bread together, connect with Rev. Blundell, reflect on where God is leading Church of the Mountains, and dream together for our future.

Stay tuned for the confirmed date, and start thinking about your favorite potluck dish to share!

Sipes Parsonage Update

Sipes Parsonage Update

Help Us Finish Strong Before Winter Sets In!

We are thrilled to share that we are officially in the final stretch of our Sipes Parsonage renovations!

With the mountain winter right around the corner, our top priority in this final phase is completing essential roof improvements to ensure the building is fully protected and ready for heavy snow ahead.

We are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and support that have brought us this far. As we work to cross the finish line, any financial contribution toward these final renovation costs would be deeply appreciated. Your generosity directly supports our church home and helps safeguard our facilities for the season ahead.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our Church of the Mountains community!

Church Giving Made Simple

Church Giving Made Simple

At Church of the Mountains, your financial support does so much more than keep our historic doors open—it fuels our shared mission to cultivate hope, beauty, and belonging in Truckee. When you give, you become an active partner in everything God is doing through our mountain community.

The Impact of Your Generosity

Vibrant Worship & Music: Supports meaningful Sunday services, acoustic Alpenglow gatherings, and spiritual programs that refresh the soul.
