Sunday Morning Worship Change - Sunday June 7

Sunday Morning Worship Change - Sunday June 7

This Sunday, June 7, our morning will look a little different as we step out of our traditional sanctuary routine to serve and celebrate our community. We are hosting our annual Pride Community Breakfast. Thank you in advance for your hands, hearts, and smiles to make it a wonderful event for our neighbors and community!

If you would like to attend a worship service this week, please plan to join our friends at TLPC (Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church) who will be holding their service at 9:00 AM in our sanctuary, just before the breakfast begins.

Sunday June 7 Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM: TLPC Worship Service

  • 10:30 AM: Church of the Mountains Pride Community Breakfast

We look forward to coming together in community and celebration this Sunday!

Pride Alpenglow Sanctuary Evening Service Sunday June 7: An Evening of Healing and Affirmation

Pride Alpenglow Sanctuary Evening Service Sunday June 7: An Evening of Healing and Affirmation

As the sun sets over the Sierra and the mountains are painted in the warm, enduring hues of alpenglow, we gather to hold a sacred space of healing, reflection, and radical belonging.

For many in the Pride community, the relationship with church and faith has been a source of deep pain, exclusion, and heavy burdens. This Pride Week, Church of the Mountains wants to say clearly: You are beloved exactly as you are, and your story matters!

Pride Alpenglow Sanctuary is a special evening service dedicated entirely to healing. It’s a reflective and meditative service with gentle space, music, candle lighting, shared silence, and words of affirmation. For anyone seeking to mend a fractured relationship with faith, want to sit in quiet solidarity, gather with our community, or simply need a safe place to rest your heart, you are welcome here.

5:00pm Social and snacks

5:30pm Reflective service

Come as you are. Wear what makes you comfortable. Bring your grief, your hope, your anger, or your joy—all of it is sacred.

Celebrate Pride Week at COM with Us!

Celebrate Pride Week at COM with Us!

This weekend is a beautiful opportunity for our congregation to come together in celebration, worship, and service. We have three wonderful Pride events lined up at the church, and we invite you to join us for any and all of them!

Here is everything you need to know about our Pride weekend schedule:

1. Pride Shabbat

  • When: Friday, June 5 (This Evening!). Potluck and gathering at 6pm -  Services at 7pm.

  • What: The North Tahoe Hebrew Congregation are returning to COM this year with a special, welcoming Pride Shabbat. Come share in a beautiful evening of reflection, community, and inclusion.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

2. Pride Community Breakfast

  • When: Sunday, June 7 | 10:30 AM

  • What: Instead of our normal Sunday morning service, we are turning our energy outward to serve the community by hosting our now 3rd Annual Pride Community Breakfast! We need your hands, hearts, and smiles to make this a warm, welcoming event for our neighbors and community.  Thanks to all who are volunteering, and who are greeting folks with a friendly "hello!"  Be sure to wear colorful attire to celebrate Pride!

  • Invite:  There is still room at our table - feel free to invite your friends and neighbors by sharing the ticket link below.
  • > Note: If you would like to attend a worship service on Sunday morning, please  join our friends at TLPC (Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church) in our Sanctuary for their service at 9:00 AM, just before the breakfast begins.

3. Pride Alpenglow

  • When: Sunday, June 7 | 5:00 Gathering and snacks, 5:30-6:30pm Reflective service

  • What: To close out Pride Week, we are eager to invite everyone to a candlelit evening of music, reflection, healing and hope. Because we recognize the real hurt churches and individual Christians have caused the LGBTQIA community, we want to provide everyone in our community with a safe space to share their story, to be heard, to be valued, and to be loved as a child of God. We know that we can't build the beloved community that Jesus talked about without everyone at the table, so we want this service to be a sign of our commitment to the work and the joy of drawing the circle wide and joining with our LGBTQIA family on a journey of faith, hope, and love.

Whether you are helping flip pancakes, joining us in worship, or gathering for Alpenglow, we look forward to celebrating love, diversity, and community with you all weekend long!

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.

Church Giving is Easy

Church Giving is Easy

At Church of the Mountains, our ministry is made possible through the generous support of our community. Your gifts help sustain meaningful worship, inspiring music, outreach to our neighbors, and a welcoming space where all are invited to gather, reflect, and grow.

Every contribution—large or small—supports the life of our church: from caring ministries and community events to maintaining our historic sanctuary and creating opportunities for connection and spiritual renewal. Together, we are nurturing a place of hope, beauty, and belonging in the heart of our mountain community.

Thank you for supporting the ministry of Church of the Mountains and for being part of all that God is doing here. We are deeply grateful for your faithfulness and generosity.
