Happy Easter Event Schedule

Sunday, March 31

Although spring has officially started, Truckee Tahoe area is not done with winter yet.

More snow is expected today and overnight, therefore for the comfort and safety of our church members Tahoe Donner outside Sunrise Service is cancelled.

Pancake Breakfast at 08:30 AM and Easter Service at 10:00 AM followed by Easter Egg Hunt are still ON!

Easter Sunday schedule:

08:00 - 08:30 AM Pancake Breakfast set up. Volunteers are welcome!

08:30 - 09:30 AM Pancake Breakfast

09:30 - 10:00 AM Pancake Breakfast clean up. Volunteers are welcome!

10:00 - 11:15 AM Easter service

11:15 - 11:45 AM Easter Egg Hunt

11:45 AM - 12:15 PM Sanctuary clean up. Volunteers are welcome!

Volunteers Needed

Help needed with greeting guests and visitors, Pancake Breakfast set up and clean up and bring snacks

Volunteer roles:

- Bring pancakes, condiments, snacks or drinks to share with others.

- Come at 08:00 AM to help set up Pancake Breakfast.

- Help us to clean up after Pancake Breakfast 09:30 - 10 AM

- Set up Zoom equipment

- Door greeter

- Clean up after Easter Egg Hunt at 11:45 AM

- Event photographer - capture some pictures/videos during the event and send it to comumc@sbcglobal.net for the history or our church and social media posts.

Easter Egg Hunt!

at Church of the Mountains (10079 Church st, Truckee)

Come bring your family and friends, grab a bucket (provided) and participate in traditional Easter Egg Hunt.

Maundy Thursday recap

On March 29th our Church hosted Maundy Thursady. Along with some people from our congregation we had guests from Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church.

We sang songs, read scriptures, had a handwashing service rather than a footwashing service and shared stories about Jesus.

We celebrated communion at both Maundy Thursady and Good Friday services. Both Pastor Vicki and Pastor Pat from TLPC officiated during the Communion services.

Holy Week Recap

We had a joint Good Friday service held at Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church with both Pastor Pat and Pastor Vicki preaching on the Seven Last Words of Christ. We had some singing accompanied by a trombone player, a flute player and Pastor Pat playing his trumpet. There were three people who did a skit while we sang "Were You There."

Spanish English Conversation Club Kickoff

Looking for volunteers to help with our Taco Bar on Friday, April 12th

Our Spanish English Conversation Club Kickoff will take place Friday, April 12, 5:30-6:30pm.

Spanish English Conversation Club will take place at the Church of the Mountains where spanish-speaking Truckee neighbors can practice their English in a safe and welcoming environment.

April 12th will be a time where all volunteers can come together with our Spanish-speaking friends for a meeting and greet. We'll also provide an overview of how our Club will work. And there will be tacos at this event to enjoy! Please register for this event by clicking this link so we can get a headcount for refreshments.

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

We just completed a study book by Priscilla Shirer called THE ARMOR OF GOD and are currently beginning Shannon Bream’s book entitled THE-MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE BIBLE SPEAK: Lessons on Faith from Nine Biblical Families.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
