Celebrate Christmas Eve at Church of the Mountains

Celebrate Christmas Eve at Church of the Mountains

We’re excited to celebrate the joy and wonder of Christmas Eve with you and our friends in the Truckee faith community.  Mark your calendar and plan to join us as we prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ.

4:00 PM – Truckee Lutheran Presybyterian Church (TLPC) Family Service

Our friends from Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church (TLPC) will lead a family-friendly Christmas gathering perfect for families wanting an earlier celebration. Expect joyful music, the Christmas story, and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

5:30 PM – Christmas Bell Ringing Service (Church of the Mountains)

Join us for a cherished Church of the Mountains tradition as we ring our historic bell to welcome Christmas. Everyone is invited to ring the bell for their Christmas wish, creating a beautiful moment of community hope and joy. For the kids, we’ll also have bell-shaped cookies to decorate—a festive and fun treat to celebrate the season.

7:30 PM – Candlelight Service (Church of the Mountains)

Enjoy Christmas Eve evening in quiet reverence, serenity and beauty. Our candlelight service gathers us together for community,  traditional carols, the reading of the nativity story, and the gentle glow of candles filling the sanctuary—a timeless way to welcome the holy night.

Christmas Caroling – December 20 at 5:00 PM

Christmas Caroling – December 20 at 5:00 PM

Bundle up, bring your holiday cheer, and join us for an evening of community Christmas caroling on Friday, December 20 at 5:00 PM with both Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church (TLPC) and Church of the Mountains coming together to sing in Truckee.

We’ll gather at Church of the Mountains before heading out together to share the joy of the season with our neighbors through classic Christmas carols. All ages are welcome—whether you love to sing or simply enjoy spreading goodwill, this is a wonderful way to connect with one another and brighten our town with the spirit of Christmas.

Come add your voice to the celebration as we share hope, joy, and music throughout our community!

Welcome to our new neighbor: DOPO Pizza & Pasta!

Welcome to our new neighbor: DOPO Pizza & Pasta!

We’re excited to welcome DOPO Pizza and Pasta as a new neighbor to Church of the Mountains in the Old Lumberyard! We look forward to the added flavor and community they bring, and for helping make our shared neighborhood even more welcoming.

We invite our church family to stop by DOPO Pizza & Pasta around the corner from us at 10242 Church St, and show some love to our new neighbors in the Old Lumberyard. Enjoy their fire-kissed pizzas, handmade pasta, and a place for families and friends to gather and linger.

Once home to the Tahoe Truckee Lumber Company, the Old Lumberyard is now a beautifully reimagined open-air gathering place in historic downtown Truckee. We’re excited to have the Old Lumberyard as part of our extended neighborhood—a place where local businesses and restaurants come together, with outdoor gathering space, a lot of history, and great views of the Mt. Rose Wilderness

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
