You're Invited: Church Visioning Session & Potluck – Sunday, August 10

Join us after worship on Sunday, August 10 from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM for an important and inspiring Visioning Session as we reflect on who we are and where God is calling Church of the Mountains in the seasons ahead.

This will be a time of sharing hopes, listening deeply, and dreaming together about the future of our ministry, community outreach, and spiritual life.

We'll gather over a potluck lunch, so please bring a dish to share if you're able. All are welcome—whether you're brand new or have been here for years. Your voice matters!

Let’s shape the future of Church of the Mountains together!

Message from Pastor Rebecca

Message from Pastor Rebecca

Last week’s sermon was on the Lord’s Prayer, and we recited an alternate version that comes from the New Zealand Book of Prayer [Anglican]. Over the years, I have collected other paraphrases of the prayer and even written one. I would like to share one more version that I couldn’t fit in the sermon. It is from one of my spiritual gurus, Parker Palmer.

Heavenly Father, Heavenly Mother,
Holy and blessed is your true name.
We pray for your reign of peace to come,
We pray that your good will be done,
Let heaven and earth become one.
Give us this day the bread we need,
Give it to those who have none.
Let forgiveness flow like a river between us,
From each one to each one.
Lead us to holy innocence
Beyond the evil of our days—
For yours is the power and the glory and the mercy:
Forever your name is All in One.

I especially love the line about forgiveness being a river that flows between us, washing away resentments and bitterness, and healing the hurt and the trauma that we carry around with us. It reminds me of that living water Jesus talked about that gushes up to eternal life.

Would anyone like to share their own rendition? I would be happy to print it.

New Life in Bloom: Our Danforth Cottage Garden!

New Life in Bloom: Our Danforth Cottage Garden!

Something beautiful is growing at Church of the Mountains! Thanks to the hard work and joyful energy of our dedicated volunteers, we now have a new garden in front of the Danforth Cottage. Last weekend, a team came together with shovels, gloves, and lots of love to plant, weed, dig, and transform the space into a welcoming and vibrant area for all to enjoy.

The new garden is not only a gift of beauty—it’s also a reflection of our care for creation and our commitment to cultivating spaces of peace and hospitality.

Take a moment to stop by, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy what’s blooming. And a huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life!
