Sipes Parsonage Renovation Update

Sipes Parsonage Renovation Update

We’ll be sharing weekly updates on the Sipes Parsonage renovation—stay tuned as we bring this special home back to life!

Progress is moving full steam ahead at the Sipes Parsonage!

Madole Construction is finalizing the leveling of the building, a key milestone that will allow our volunteer crews to begin interior renovation work in the coming weeks.

Once leveling is complete, we’ll move forward with four main interior projects:

  • Building a wall and closet between the two bedrooms

  • Repairing a wall between the bedroom and living room

  • Completing a full kitchen remodel

  • Finishing a complete bathroom remodel

In preparation, we’ve already made great headway:

  • Furniture and appliance removal: All furniture not belonging to Pastor Rebecca and Hank has been donated. The kitchen cabinets and extra refrigerator have been moved to the Danforth Cottage for use in that renovation project.

  • Demolition and prep work: The accordion wall and closet materials between the two bedrooms have been removed, and the kitchen has been taken down to the studs to prepare for the remodel.

  • Flooring prep: All the old carpet and padding have been removed throughout the house to get ready for new carpeting.

There’s a lot to do to have the home ready for Pastor Rebecca and Hank to move in by Thanksgiving, but we’re making excellent progress thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and partners.

How You Can Help with the Sipes Parsonage Project

How You Can Help with the Sipes Parsonage Project

We’re getting closer to making the Sipes Parsonage move-in ready for Pastor Rebecca and Hank by Thanksgiving, and there are several ways you can lend a hand!

Donate Primer
Once drywall is installed, we’ll be priming lots of walls before painting begins. If you have any partially used buckets of primer that are still good to use, please drop them off inside the church in the Fellowship Hall by November 2. Every bit helps us stretch our renovation dollars further!

Volunteer to Paint
Join us for one (or both!) of our upcoming Paint Days:

  • Saturday, November 1, 9 AM–2 PM: Paint three bedrooms

  • Saturday, November 15, 9 AM–2 PM: Paint the living room and kitchen

If you’d like to volunteer, please email Lisa McCready at lisakmccready@gmail.com.

Donate Ace Hardware Coupons
If you receive Ace Hardware coupons in the mail or newspaper, please bring them to church on Sunday and place them in the offering plate. We’ll use them toward purchasing paint and building materials for the renovation.

Your time, energy, and donations make all the difference as we bring this special home back to life for Pastor Rebecca and Hank!

Help Us Spread the Word—Musicians Wanted!

Help Us Spread the Word—Musicians Wanted!

We are looking for gifted musicians to help lead worship and create joyful Sunday mornings—and we’d love your help getting the word out!

We are building a small worship band and are seeking keyboardists, guitarists, and singers with strong people skills who enjoy collaborating. Our music spans contemporary Christian, jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and bluegrass. A piano, keyboard, and full sound system are available, along with a library of curated hymn and contemporary Christian scores and slides.

These are paid positions with flexible, negotiable rates.
If you—or someone you know—would be a great fit, please share this invitation and send a resume to comumctruckee@gmail.com

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

The Women’s Bible Study group and Prayer Net

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
