A Message From Pastor Rebecca
How can I possibly give thanks to all the people who have come together with their time, talents and treasure to transform the old Sipes parsonage that was practically “leaning on the everlasting arms” and make it into such a comfortable and cozy home for me and my family right in the heart of Truckee? The Irelan girls only know one way: to write new lyrics to old tunes. So, to express my deepest gratitude, here are a couple of songs that I would like to sing you: “Workers for Christ” [tune: National Hymn] Workers for Christ who had a vision clear held onto faith for all of five long years. When the permit at last it did come through, you jumped right in to show what you can do! You planned and measured and began to build. Our hopes and dreams began to be fulfilled. You gave yourself: your time and treasure, too. You held out hope your church can be made new. I cannot thank you for your gift of love, but I can sing your praise to God above. God will be here to bless you on your way. and get you ready for a brand-new day.
“How Great You Are!” [tune: How Great Thou Art] O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the work these folks have done, my heart and mind cannot begin to ponder how blessed I am for each and everyone. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! You gave them hope and patience, too. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! You gave them strength to see it through. For weeks the house was full of dust and paint fumes and it did seem that there was just no way to finish up the kitchen and the bedrooms but they worked on and some of them did pray. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! You gave them faith and purpose, too. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! You gave them grace to see it through. And when I think of this great transformation, I cannot help but bow my head in prayer that this old church can be a new creation. This I believe because they do and dare. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! They give me joy and passion, too! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to you! Together we can make things new! |

November is Stewardship Month — Building Our Future Together
As we look ahead with hope and purpose, our focus for 2026 centers on three meaningful priorities that reflect who we are and who we feel called to be as a church community: 1. Making Meaningful Connections in Truckee 2. Beautifying Our Campus for All 3. Outreach to Youth for a Safe and Connective Space As we enter Stewardship Month, we invite you to prayerfully consider how your gifts of time, talent, and treasure can help bring these goals to life. Together, we can build a future rooted in hospitality, connection, and care. Please take a moment to fill out your Commitment Card — either during Sunday Worship or online at the button below. Your commitment helps us plan, dream, and continue growing in love and service together. Sipes Parsonage Renovation Update
Despite the chilly weather, we enjoyed a delightful Sneak Peek Open House to share the amazing progress of the Sipes Parsonage. With Pastor Rebecca, Hank and Sophie moving in next week, we are in the final stages of renovation. Kitchen: The sink, dishwasher, and refrigerator are all installed! The oven got a new gas line and waiting for final inspection before installation. Laundry Room: The washer and dryer are installed and tested, shelves are installed, and waiting for a final door to make the laundry room complete. Bedrooms: Just a few shelves await in one of the bedrooms to make all 3 bedrooms complete. Painting: Final touches of paint are being applied to the bathroom, and all the floor trim in the house. Painting is almost complete! |
