Next Alpenglow Evening Service - Sunday, March 1
As the sun dips behind the mountains and the sky softens into hues of gold and rose, we invite you to join us for our next Alpenglow Evening Service on Sunday, March 1. This peaceful, contemplative gathering is designed as a moment to pause, breathe, and gently prepare your heart for the week ahead. Inspired by the beauty of alpenglow—the warm, radiant light that graces the peaks at day’s end—this service offers a sacred space for reflection, stillness, and renewal. Whether you’ve spent your day on the slopes, the trails, or simply moving through a full weekend, come as you are and settle into a tranquil, welcoming atmosphere. Through quiet prayer, meaningful words, and calming music, we’ll share in a time that grounds and reconnects us. Alpenglow Service - Sunday, March 1 All are welcome. Bring a friend, or come in quiet solitude—there is space for you here. We look forward to being together in this gentle close to the day. |

COM: Coming Together in a Time of Grief and Grace
In the wake of the recent tragedies in Truckee, our community has shown the true meaning of coming together - with compassion, care, and a deep commitment to one another. At Church of the Mountains, it has been a privilege to open our doors and hearts during this tender time. Following the Town of Truckee’s candlelight vigil, more than 100 community members gathered in our space for a reception of warmth and connection. Over shared food, quiet conversations, and simply being present with one another, our church demonstrated what is has always been - the heart of Truckee, a place of love, refuge, comfort, and belonging. We were also honored to co-host an interfaith service in partnership with the North Tahoe Hebrew Congregation, led by Pastor Rebecca, Rabbi Lauren and Rabbi Evon. This meaningful service brought together people of different faiths and backgrounds, united in reflection, prayer, and hope. In a time marked by grief, it was a powerful reminder that we are not alone. Throughout last week, Pastor Rebecca continued to host Grief Hours - dedicated time for anyone in the community seeking a quiet place to sit, reflect, pray, or simply be. Rebecca was able to minister to those carrying sorrow, searching for peace, or just in need of a gentle space. In moments like these, the strength of our community is found not in having answers, but in showing up for one another. Thank you for being part of a church and a town that leads with love. Church Giving is Easy
At Church of the Mountains, our ministry is made possible through the generous support of our community. Your gifts help sustain meaningful worship, inspiring music, outreach to our neighbors, and a welcoming space where all are invited to gather, reflect, and grow. Every contribution—large or small—supports the life of our church: from caring ministries and community events to maintaining our historic sanctuary and creating opportunities for connection and spiritual renewal. Together, we are nurturing a place of hope, beauty, and belonging in the heart of our mountain community. Thank you for supporting the ministry of Church of the Mountains and for being part of all that God is doing here. We are deeply grateful for your faithfulness and generosity.
