The 4th of July parade is a classic Truckee tradition, and because our church sits right at the end of the parade route, we have the perfect opportunity to welcome our community!

We are opening up our front sidewalk and lawn to greet parade-goers, and we would love for you to join us. We will be setting up a hospitality table to hand out refreshments, opening our doors to neighbors, and offering a unique Truckee tradition: the chance for kids and families to ring our historic church bell!

Whether you want to help host, hand out water, or just want a great spot to sit and watch the parade with your church family, you are welcome here.

• When: Saturday, July 4th at 9:30 AM (Come early to grab a spot before the roads close!)

• Where: Front lawn and sidewalk of Church of the Mountains

• What to bring: Just yourself! We will have folding chairs available for everyone, but feel free to bring your own favorite camp chair if you prefer.

After a busy July 4th weekend of celebrations, family time, or mountain adventures, our Alpenglow Evening Service is the perfect place to land. It offers a peaceful, casual space to slow down, center your heart, and breathe before a new week begins.

Whether you are a lifelong churchgoer, someone searching for a safe space to heal, or a neighbor looking for community, you are welcome exactly as you are.

Gathering Details

When: Sunday July 5

Time:  5:00pm Gathering and Snacks - 5:30pm Reflective service

Format: Acoustic music, meaningful reflection, candle lighting, and a deeply welcoming atmosphere. Come as you are, and wear whatever makes you comfortable!

A Note on Our Alpenglow Rhythm: Our Alpenglow evening services take place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month. It is our way of drawing the circle wide, ensuring there is a place at the table for everyone’s schedule and spiritual journey.

We can't wait to gather, breathe, and share the evening light with you on July 5. Bring your joy, your heavy burdens, your questions, or your quiet hopes - all of it is sacred here.

We had a great first event last night, and we’re already looking forward to the next one! Our new weekly gathering is the perfect, warm space for young people to gather and connect right here in Truckee.

Every Thursday evening throughout the summer, we are opening up our church backyard and transforming it into a cozy oasis for the community. Come wind down, meet new friends, and enjoy the beautiful summer evenings.

• Where: The Church of the Mountains Backyard

• The Vibes: Live acoustic music by Megan Lacy & friends, refreshing mocktails, and a comfortable, cozy atmosphere.

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate. 

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
