Free Event at COM: Musical Dialogues with Haruka Fujii and the Musubi Trio

Free Event at COM: Musical Dialogues with Haruka Fujii and the Musubi Trio

Friday, September 12 · 5:00 - 6:30pm

Church of the Mountains is delighted to host Tahoe Music Alive for their "Musical Dialogues" event, a free community event.  This will be a conversation to hear these world-class musicians share about their backgrounds, talk about their ambitions, and share the love of music.

Multi-percussionist Haruka Fujii has become one of the most prominent percussionists and marimbaists of her generation. Since 2010 Haruka has performed as a member of the Grammy Award winning Silk Road Ensemble, joining a group of international musicians founded by Yo-Yo Ma.

In the Musubi Trio, Fujii brings to Tahoe accomplished instrumentalists and an array of instruments. Together they will perform a tour of traditional and contemporary Japanese composers. Ràyo Furuta returns to Tahoe, after his July 2025 concert with Carol Wincence, playing both the Western transverse flute and the Japanese shakuachi flute. Beni Shinohara Assistant Concert Master for the SF Ballet Orchestra plays stringed instruments, including the violin

Change in Recycling Donation Drop Off - New Location is the Lott's House

Change in Recycling Donation Drop Off - New Location is the Lott's House

The Drop Off for recycling donations has changed:

OLD DROP-OFF LOCATION:  Please do not leave your recycling donations at Church of the Mountains as the church is no longer the designated donation drop-off site.

NEW DROP-OFF LOCATION:  Please bring your CRV (California Redemption Value) recycling to the Lott's house in Glenshire at 10435 Royal Crest anytime  (place it on the upper porch on the right side of their garage). Please remove all caps from plastic bottles (you can leave the plastic caps in the bottom of the bag), please rinse and completely empty all bottles and cans, and make sure your bag is sealed. Questions?  Email: thelotts@gmail.com

For over 16 years COM and TLPC have been collecting CRV recycling and donating the funds to areas of great need in Africa. Our recycling over the years has netted over $25,000! This program has become a real life changing activity, saving the lives of many of our brothers and sisters in Africa.   Thank you!

Join us every Monday 10-11am at Church of the Mountains (weather and road conditions permitting)

Judy Jensen, the group leader welcomes everyone to participate.

We read and discuss the books we have chosen in an informal discussion and look forward to spending time and sharing our faith with one another. We pray as an introduction to our study—and we close with prayer.

Our group are also members of the Prayer Net and welcome requests that come to us through the larger church body.
